IPEGA Game Center
The IPEGA Game Center APK is a file that you would normally install on your tablet or smartphone when you intend to pair your wireless IPEGA gamepad with your device. The issue with using the IPEGA Game Center APK however is the fact that the configuration process can be quite cumbersome, often resulting in great frustration and a gamepad that does not work properly with the games on your tablet or phone.

So, the million dollar question is: Is there a simpler way to setup your IPEGA wireless controller? The answer is a resounding “yes”. Let us look at how.

Step 1 – Do not install the IPEGA Game Center APK
When configuring your IPEGA 9023, 9025 – or any other IPEGA gamepad for that matter – to work with your smart phone or any other portable device, the most important thing to remember is that you should not ever install the iPEGA Game Centre APK file on your device in order to pair it with the IPEGA gampad. What you should do instead is follow the following basic options.
Step 2 – Power up Your IPEGA Gamepad into a variety of modes
Mode 1 is called Gamepad Mode. When in gamepad mode your device will think that it is connected to a physical gamepad. Many games come with a built in auto detect feature that would think that it is connected to a physical gamepad and hence would auto map in game keys to those keys that are normally found on the gamepad.
In order to get gamepad mode activated on your iPEGA you simultaneously press the “X” and “Home” buttons for a couple of seconds until the orange LED light on the IPEGA controller flashes. Next, you go on to your portable device and enable the Bluetooth radio. Then after a couple of seconds the gamepad will automatically pair itself with the device and the orange LED will stop flashing in fact it will stay solid orange. Yes, it is that simple.
Mode 2 is called Keyboard Mode.In order to get keyboard mode simply press the “A” and the “Home” button at the same time. The orange LED will flash meaning that your gamepad is looking for another device to pair itself to. Next, you go to your device and enable the Bluetooth radio. After a couple of seconds the Bluetooth connectivity will be completed between the IPEGA gamepad and the device and the LED will remain a solid orange color.

When in keyboard mode, devices connecting to the IPEGA controller will think that they are connected to a physical keyboard. This mode is great for games that allow you to map keys to gameplay buttons.
Mode 3 is called iCade Mode. Simply hold down the “B” button and the “Home” button’s on the IPEGA controller and you will notice that the orange LED will flash quickly showing that your controller is looking to pair itself with another device via a Bluetooth connection. Ensure that your device has its Bluetooth radio enabled (ensure that you do this for all of the other modes as well) and wait for a couple seconds until both devices are synced up together (again the orange LED light will remain a solid color once the pairing has been completed).
Mode 4 (the final mode) is called the “SPP mode”. This mode is normally hardly used and it is known as the IPEGA gaming desktop mode and you get into this mode by simply pressing and holding down both the “Home” and the “Y” buttons on your IPEGA gamepad.
So in summary, the good news is you do not have to install the IPEGA Game Center APK file on your device in order to connect to your iPEGA 9025, IPEGA 9023 or any IPEGA wireless gamepad for that matter. You simply use any of the four gamepad modes mentioned above by following the easy to follow button press instructions and you should be good to go.

I am not sure what and why. But there’s always this possibility that the mobile device they are pairing with the IPEGA gamepad controller isn’t compatible at all. However, my game enthusiast friend once again found a way.
You can now pair with your mobile device with IPEGA gamepad controller without installing any apps. And that’s what we will show you today.

Although there are other controllers like the Moga Pro Power gamepad controller I reviewed last year which I think is also cool and neat to use. In any case, there’s only one main key why I and others use a gamepad controller. And that is to have better control of the game.
Moreover, having a gamepad controller setup makes it more convenient and less intrusive. As opposed to swiping and tapping directly the screen display UI controllers. The “real-feel” isn’t just there. If you know what I mean. 🙂

How to set up IPEGA gamepad controller without any apps
- First (and also important), you have to DELETE the installed IPEGA Game Center app from your device OR any 3rd-party gamepad controller app from your mobile to avoid any conflicts.
- Then on your IPEGA gamepad controller (PG-9025), press and hold X and HOME button simultaneously. Wait until the RED LED is blinking.
- Once the red LED is blinking, you can now pair it with your device.

That’s it! You can now test it by opening any games from your app drawer. In our video below, we will be showing you the Android game app called Beach Buggy Blitz. And in this game, you will see that we’re able to use IPEGA gamepad controller.

You can try to pair first your mobile device with IPEGA using this non-app dependent setup. But if your device can’t recognize your gamepad controller or fails to pair, then you can try using the official app I’ve mentioned above.
Now if everything fails, then check with your supplier. I am sure you don’t want to spend your precious money with a device you can’t use in the end.
